Fashion for Your Shape and Style

Every woman has their own unique build and style which fits her distinctive personality.

There are hundreds of styles available to us, but that does not mean they are all design for us.

One way to find what works best for your unique style and build is to get to know you, and YOUR body. Find out what your body type is and embrace it. That means getting a close friend and a tape measure:

· Height

· Waist (where you bend is your natural waist, good idea to tight a ribbon at this point for future measurements)

· Shoulder Circumference (about 2” below top of your shoulder)

· Bust Circumference (wearing your normal bra, at the fullest part of your breast, under the arms and over the nipples, under-bust circumference)

· Total Rise (at the ribbon at your natural waist, take tape at the center of your back down through your legs and to the center of your waist)

· Front rise (from the center of your natural waist to the mid point between your legs, don’t use the hem of your clothing)

· High-hip Circumference (about 4” below your natural waist)

· Hip Circumference ( at the fullest part of your hips)

· Inseam (without shoes, from floor to your crotch)

The Full-figure or Curvy: Proportioned shoulders, bust and hips, softly defined waist curve; strong, straight shoulder line; rounded bottom.

Reverse triangle or Y: Broad shoulders; often athletic upper arms; proportionately narrower waist and hips.

The Classic Hour-glass or S: Proportioned bust and hips; slim, defined waist; soft, rounded shoulder line; curves from every angle.

Classic Athletic or H: Proportioned bust and hip; subtle waist curve; tend to look thin from the side.

Classic Triangle or A: Proportionately narrower shoulders and bust; proportionately broader hips; tiny waist.

Va va voom or P: Ample bust, proportionately smaller hips and shoulders; often a less rounded bottom.

Full figure with Legs or E: Proportioned shoulders and hips; undefined waist; full tummy; long tapered legs.

Find out what looks great on you, in the weeks to come will be giving tips on what best fits the different body shape and style. Next week, watch for Building Wardrobe . . . The Basic Essentials
